How is COVID-19 affecting us?

In recent days, authorities in Mexico have instated several measures that temporarily suspend activities that have an impact on the affairs of our clients. Public offices have gradually closed, and the procedures and services they offer have been affected by suspensions and postponements. Both private individuals and the government have been adjusting their activities and obligations on a daily basis, and every day new documents are emitted that our clients must be aware of and attend to..

What kind of impact does this have on legal relationships? The answer to this question involves many aspects, and varies in the case of each client and their legal position in relation to individuals and public bodies; each situation is different.

On March 12th, 2020, our firm implemented a Plan Addressing the COVID-19 Pandemic and its impact on the legal activities of our clients. We have been monitoring in a timely fashion the likely future scenarios with experts in global forecasting since December 2019, and we continue to do so. As a first step, we set up remote work because our team and our clients are of the utmost importance, and we designed communication channels for each client and issue. Due to the rapid impact and repercussions of the pandemic, we are introducing continuous measures to attend to our clients and provide them with the services they require immediately. We have been keeping abreast of all the documents issued by the various public bodies and the individuals with whom our clients maintain legal relations. In addition, we are in constant communication with our network in the legal sector both in Mexico and in major cities throughout the United States of America, as well as in the academic world, in order to discuss and contribute legal solutions with respect to a wide range of issues.

Each client is different, each issue has its specificities, and each government interaction has its particular characteristics, which is why we will be attentive to any and all legal developments of interest.
